The Danish National Advanced Technology Foundation (Højteknologifonden) has granted an amount of DKK 13 million to the eye tracking for mobile devices project.

Imagine that in just a few years you may open your mobile phone or play a game just by looking at your smartphone! This may be possible because a small camera registers where you are looking.

Eye tracking for everybody

Today, eye control is only applied in expensive and specialized devices developed for people with a handicap. The eye tracking project will enable us to develop the technology behind and broaden the market for everyone, for instance in the game industry.

Partners

Associate Professor Jakob Eg Larsen and Assistant Professor Michael Kai Petersen from the Cognitive Systems section are part of the three-year project. The other partners are The Eye Tribe ApS, Lego Systems A/S, the IT University of Copenhagen and Serious Games Interactive.
